2026: The Year of NOURISH

For years, every January like clockwork, I’d sit down with a fresh notebook and a long list of resolutions: get healthier, grow my business, spend more time with family.

I’d have more resolutions than I had time to actually do any of them.

The New Year would roll around and for a couple of weeks I would feel unstoppable. But by February, my ambition for all those to-dos would fizzle.

Sound familiar?

In 2014, when I started my entrepreneurial journey, I realized resolutions just weren’t working for me. They felt so overwhelming.

That’s when I heard about choosing a word of the year.

Instead of forcing myself to stick to a list of resolutions, I could pick one word that resonated deeply and use it as a compass for the year ahead. Giving me focus instead of an endless to-do list.

Over the years, my words have included Believe, Simplify, Work Smarter Not Harder, No Excuses, Balance, Less, Rediscover and Focus. Each one has reflected where I was in life and what I needed to grow.

This year, I felt pulled toward something softer. Something that supports both my heart and my health.

My Word of the Year is NOURISH.

After reflecting on the past year (the wins, the challenges, the projects, the health journey, the moments with my family, and the whirlwind of running two businesses), I kept coming back to one truth:

I need nourishment.

Not just in the literal sense, but in every sense.

Nourish to me means:

  • filling my own cup, not just everyone else’s

  • caring for my body and mind with intention

  • surrounding myself with people who feel like home

  • choosing work that energizes me, not drains me

  • giving myself space to rest, recharge, and breathe

It’s the reminder I didn’t even realize I needed so so badly.

How I Plan to Nourish My Personal Life

This word touches every corner of my life, especially personally.

In 2026, I want to nourish:

  • my health, with warm, supportive meals and routines that help me feel my best

  • my energy, by recognizing when to slow down

  • my relationships, especially the one with my daughter as she grows into new stages and passions

  • my home, making it a place of comfort, peace, and joy

  • my mental well-being, by creating boundaries that protect my time and my heart

  • my joy, by leaning into the small moments that fill me up

How I Plan to Nourish My Business

Nourish also shows up in big ways inside KA Social Media Consulting.

In business, I want to nourish:

  • my creativity, by giving myself space to dream, write, and create without rushing

  • my client relationships, choosing collaborations that feel aligned and meaningful

  • my processes, so work feels smoother, lighter, and more supportive

  • my professional growth, by exploring new tools, ideas, and opportunities that genuinely excite me

  • my boundaries, reminding myself that rest fuels better work

After 10+ years in business, I’ve learned that the most sustainable growth doesn’t come from pushing harder; it comes from nourishing the foundation.

As We Begin 2026

Nourish feels gentle, grounding, and exactly what my life needs right now.

It’s a reminder to choose what fuels me.

And if this resonates with you, maybe this is the year you choose a Word of the Year too. You might be surprised by how much clarity one little word can bring.

Cheers to a year of nourishment in business, in life, and in everything in between.
