5 Ways to Refresh Your Social Media This FallšŸ‚

Something about September always feels like a fresh start to me. Every time I pack up B’s bag for the new school year with fresh notebooks and pencils, I get the urge to reset and refocus my business as well.

Now, sometimes it’s hard to get back on track after a summer filled with road trips, later nights and slower routines, so I like to kick-start things with a little fine-tuning. A small goal to kick-start my energy.

For me, that’s doing a quick refresh of my social media presence. It helps me feel organized and consistent as I head into the fall and winter seasons.

Here are five ways to refresh your social media this September:

āœ… 1. Update Your Bios & Profiles

When was the last time you REALLY looked at your social profiles? I mean like, really looked at what was written, how old your profile picture is, how recent your offerings are.

So before things really kick into high gear, take a second to review things. Common ones I update are:

  • Instagram bio

  • Linkedin Header

  • Facebook ā€˜About’ Section

  • Link Landing Page (For me, it’s a page on my website, but platforms like LinkTree need to be updated regularly.)

  • Check website links on all platforms to make sure they work

  • Update any publicly posted hours to make sure they are correct

Even small updates (like adding keywords or adjusting your call-to-action) can make a big difference in how people discover and understand your brand and how to find you online.

āœ… 2. Refresh Your Hours & Offerings

If you’re a seasonal or tourism-based business, fall often means shifting gears. Now is a great time to make sure your hours are up to date everywhere. Think social media, Google business, your website, and even your email signature.

If you’re launching new fall services, products, or promotions, update your social media highlights, pinned posts, and banners. Nothing is worse for a customer than showing up and realizing the hours or offers they saw online are outdated.

Pro tip: Create a simple post or Reel to announce your fall hours because it doubles as fresh content and keeps your audience in the loop.

āœ… 3. Create a Simple Posting Schedule

Here’s the truth about social media these days: you don’t need to post every day to see results. What matters most is consistency.

Aim for 3–4 quality posts per week, and batch them in advance so you’re not scrambling daily. Block an hour to plan captions, design a few Canva graphics, and drop everything into a scheduler like Meta Business Suite, Later, or Planoly.

Pro tip: Mix up your formats! Share a Reel, a static post, a carousel, and a Story in a week to keep your audience engaged without burning yourself out.

āœ… 4. Set 1–2 Fall Goals

Before you jump into creating content, step back and ask: What do I actually want my marketing to do for me this season?

Do you want more sales? More visibility? More newsletter sign-ups? Write down 1–2 clear goals and use them as your guide. Every post should tie back to those outcomes.

Pro tip: Goals don’t have to be big to be effective. Even ā€œconnect with more local customersā€ or ā€œshare 1 testimonial a weekā€ can make a huge impact when you stay consistent.

āœ… 5. Audit Your Content & Insights

Fall is the perfect time to reflect on what’s been working (and what hasn’t).

Dive into your analytics: Which posts got the most saves, shares, or engagement this summer? Which ones fell flat? Use this data to guide your fall strategy instead of guessing.

Pro tip: Keep a simple spreadsheet or running note where you track your top-performing content because it makes planning so much easier in the long run.

Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Refreshing your social media isn’t about reinventing everything from scratch. Instead, it’s about small updates that keep you consistent, up-to-date, and ready for the busy months ahead, so people can find you and support you!

Think of September as your reset button: clean up, plan ahead, and get excited for what’s next. By making these updates now, you’ll set yourself up for a stronger Q4 and a smoother start to next year!
