Your Back To School, Back To Business Resource Roundup
It’s the beginning of September, which means the kiddos are heading back to school and you and I are heading back to business!
If you’ve been following along on Instagram or my Newsletter, you’ll know that we’ve been counting down the days to this week with the Back To School, Back To Business challenge. And you already have a good head start on the busy season.
This little lull between the kids going back to school and the start of networking season gives us a great chance to take a good look at our business and our online presence.
So I thought, since we’re busy packing and getting ready to move into the new house, I wanted to share a roundup of posts you might have missed that are perfect for getting you ready for the busy season:
Start with the basics
Before you get planning your posts, take stock of what you already have online! In The 2026 Back To Business Summer Challenge, I walk through everything I double-check after a slower summer: profiles, website, email list, community, numbers, even the workspace.
If you haven't done this yet, set aside an afternoon and work through it now, before September gets busy.
Not signed up yet? Grab the free Back To School, Back To Business Checklist. It walks you through the same list in a format you can actually check off, and it gets you onto my weekly Social Media Minute emails too.
Take time to reset!
Don't go from beach mode to all systems go overnight. In 8 Ways to Reset Your Business For September, I cover the small resets that make the biggest difference: clearing your workspace, revisiting your goals, easing into routines, and reconnecting with your network before the fall rush hits.
If you want more on the routines piece specifically, Getting Back to Your Business Routines After a Break is worth a read too.
Start planning all the things!
Once your office is clean and you’re ready to dive back in, it’s time to think about what you’re actually going to post!
If you’ve never been one to plan your social media content, the first post I would recommend is 10 Reasons Small Business Owners Need to Pre-Plan Their Social Media Content - it walks you through why it’s so important to plan your content ahead of time.
30 Content Ideas for September is full of prompts you can pull from for the month ahead.
Or, you can look even further ahead and read Planning your Social Media Marketing for Black Friday Sales - because it always creeps up on us!
Get hyped for the busy season ahead
Fall is your busy season, and getting excited about it is part of the reset. 10 Ways to Hype Yourself Up for the Busy Season has things I do to get in the right headspace before things pick up.
Another thing I like to do is start getting my LinkedIn primed for connections! You can read 10 things to do on LinkedIn weekly to get yourself ready.
Personally, I love pulling out my Social Media Content Planner to get excited for the new season. It has places for me to plan out big dates, monthly themes, you name it.
Ready to make this your season?
If you'd rather have someone else handle the reset for you, I have new spots opening for fall collaborations.
Whether that's social media management, an event, a 1-on-1 session, or a workshop for your team, let's talk about what would help most.
