How to Stay Visible During Vacation Mode
If you’ve been around for a while, you know I’m a huge supporter of business owners taking it easier during the summer months and using that downtime to rest and come back in September recharged and ready to take on the world!
But that doesn’t mean your business can disappear for the summer, too!
Summer is actually one of the busiest times on social media, especially if you’re in tourism, seasonal work, or offering any kind of local product or service.
People are out and about, searching online for things to do and you need to show up in their feed, even if you’re spending time relaxing at the beach.
Here’s how I like to keep things moving while I’m half-working, half-eating ice cream with B:
✅ Schedule a few things ahead of time
Even just 1–2 posts a week is plenty to remind people you’re still around. I use Meta Business Suite, but Later or Buffer work too.
Repurpose stuff! Think: FAQs, reminders of what you offer, maybe a local spotlight or a client win. It doesn’t need to be fancy because done is always better than perfect.
✅ Re-share what’s already working
If you posted something last year that people loved? Post it again. Change the caption, swap the image, boom! New content.
✨ Blog post → Reel
✨ Testimonial → Quote graphic
✨ FAQ → Story series
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Especially not when you're in summer brain mode.
✅ Stories are your low-key best friend
Even if you don’t feel like posting to your feed, a couple of Stories while you're off is a great way to stay connected. Think of things like:
📸 Your view, your bevvy, your beach day
🎥 A quick behind-the-scenes of what you’re up to
📍Tag a local biz while you're out and about
Even one Story a week keeps your business fresh in your audience’s minds.
✅ Let your time off inspire content
The things you’re getting up to when you’re off the clock can be amazing content for your business! Try these ideas when you're back and ready to post again:
→ What stepping away reminded you about your biz
→ How you prepped to unplug
→ 3 lessons from your break you’re bringing forward
(Write it in your phone notes while you’re having your iced mocha, and it’ll be ready when you are.)
You And Your Business Can Both Use The Rest
You don’t have to be on all the time to show up. There’s a middle ground, and that’s where I like to hang out.
✨ Your biz needs you to rest.
✨ Your people still wanna hear from you.
You can do both.
So take the break and stay visible in a way that works for you.
Still feeling stuck? Book a strategy session and I’ll help you map it all out (so you can log off guilt-free).
