Like many others I set pretty specific goals for 2016. It’s now the 3rd week of January (How are we almost at the end of January SLOW DOWN TIME!) and I’m starting to re-think or re-evaluate some of my goals.
For those of you that did not read my posts about my goals I will re-post and let you know the good and the ugly of where I stand on them.
One blog post a week – We are Jan 18 and this is my 2nd post so I guess I did not meet my full intention. I have thought long and hard about this and I think I know why I’m having a hard time writing one blog post a week. I think the reason I’m having difficulty with the blog is because I’m not quite sure what my blog should be: social media related, local scene related, food related (Totally foodie over here!), health and wellness related, product related ect…. the conclusion I’ve come to, it’s going to be a combination of all of the above which is similar to my Instagram account. The 2nd reason I’ve been having difficulty is that in my head I had decided that I would send out my blog posts on Friday. I’ve quickly realized that Friday’s is not a good day for me. Monday’s is an office day for me so I have decided that I will stick to the earlier part of the week for my blog post. Aiming for Monday/Tuesday and we will see how that goes!
Teaching one monthly workshop, lunch or learn or class of some type– This goal has been achieved! I taught a workshop last Tuesday and have another scheduled for tomorrow. I have a few ideas for the next few months but nothing has been set in stone yet. I did confirm a lunch and learn for August.
Reading one inspiration or business book per month– I did read 2 books so far this month however they were what I call “chick flick books” and counted in my “Me time” as oppose to my business reading time. I do have 4 books waiting to be opened and hopefully will start one of them this week. Once I start a book it doesn’t usually take me long to read it but picking it up is sometimes the hardest part.
Host a blab session– This hasn’t happened yet but I have participated in the Social Media Blab on Friday mornings with my fellow local Social Media managers in Halifax.
Have more “Me time”– I can say that this has been also achieved! I’m still spending a lot of time working however I have made a point to relax a bit more, watch shows with my fiancé and take some much needed time to eat better and exercise.
Do 3-5 workouts per week – 100% achieved thanks to an accountability group with my amazing beachbody coach! The first week I did 7 workouts and last week I did 5 workouts plus a few shovelling sessions since that amazing white stuff (Can you hear the sarcasm??) has officially arrived.
Go back to 85-90% Clean Eating – Also achieved! Clean eating is what my body wants and deserves. I know when I’m fueling my body with healthy foods that I feel so much better mentally and physically. The hard work of working out and eating right is paying off. I’m down 3.5 pounds and 7.5 inches all around! With a wedding coming up in July this makes me very happy!
After writing this all down on paper I’m realizing that I’m actually not doing too badly on my resolutions…. actually I’m doing pretty good compared to other years! Did you set New Year’s resolutions? How are you doing? I’d love to hear from you!
